So many times he tried to keep his cool with Stanley, but at some points he'd just give up on him and let him keep saunter into different rooms. I can't just leave him like that, the Narrator thought while examining each door Stanley tried to unlock.
The Narrator had somewhat little control over Stanley. He could close the doors that he was not allowed to go in and ones that he's supposedly expected him to go through. He takes him back to the beginning when it ends and assumes he will take a correct path so the Narrator will feel pleased. But, the weird thing is, the Narrator usually secretly hopes for him to pick the wrong way.
Suddenly, Stanley came across two doors.

That ConflictThe Narrator fell asleep in his chair, with his head on his desk. Stanley passed out in a couch in some random room. The computer monitor was still on and obviously showed Stanley and what room he was sleeping in.That Conflict by ~Littlecaper
Everyone was sleeping. Everyone except the female narrator, or should we say: Substitute Narrator. She has been hearing absolute silence for the past two hours. She was in another monitoring room, almost looks exactly like the male narrator's, only it was smaller in width.
She listened as the Narrator gave Stanley directions on where to go. And she also heard when the Narrator got mad at Stanley. She heard everything that came from from the main narrator's room. She knew that the Narrator...had a crush on Stanley. The Narrator, of course, wouldn't admit it to her straightforward. Substitute Narrator also didn't tell Stanley herself, even though she could, but it was because she didn't want Stanley to feel completely uncomfortable with the Narrator.
